Terms and Conditions for the “Let’s Talk Health!” Social Media Video Advocacy Program
Welcome to the “Let’s Talk Health!” Social Media Video Advocacy Program (the “Program”), hosted by Sun Sprouts (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern your participation in the Program. By participating in the Program, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you are under 18 years old, your parent or legal guardian must also agree to these Terms.
1. Program Overview
The Program is designed to empower participants to create and share informative and engaging social media videos on health-related topics of their choice. Participants (“Volunteers”) will upload videos to their own social media accounts and adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by us.
2. Eligibility
- Participants must be 13 years of age or older to participate.
- Participants under 18 must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
- Participants must have access to a valid social media account and agree to comply with the terms of use of their chosen platform(s).
3. Content Guidelines
- Accuracy: All health-related content must be accurate, evidence-based, and appropriately researched.
- Respectfulness: Content must not include hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory language.
- Safety: Videos must not encourage unsafe practices or violate community standards on social media platforms.
- Compliance: Participants must adhere to copyright and intellectual property laws. Use only royalty-free music, images, or videos, or obtain appropriate permissions.
- Prohibited Content: Videos must not include profanity, nudity, violence, or any other inappropriate material.
4. Rules for Volunteer Hours Approval
- Quality Standards:
- Videos must meet quality standards set by Sun Sprouts. This includes:
- Accurate information based on reputable sources.
- Adherence to the content guidelines outlined in Section 3.
- Clear audio and video quality.
- Engaging and educational presentation of health-related topics.
- Videos failing to meet these standards may be disqualified from earning volunteer hours.
- Service Credit Allocation:
- Each approved video may qualify for up to 3 hours of volunteer service.
- The time allocated includes research, planning, recording, and editing.
- Limit on Videos:
- Participants may earn volunteer credit for a maximum of 5 videos, for a total of up to 15 hours of service per calendar year.
- Participants are welcome to create additional videos, but only the first 5 approved videos will count toward service hours.
- Submission and Review Process:
- Participants must notify Sun Sprouts upon uploading a video via this form.
- Videos will be reviewed within 10 business days to determine eligibility for service credit. Feedback will be provided if necessary.
- Documentation:
- Approved hours will be documented and can be provided to schools, employers, or other organizations upon request.
5. Social Media Accounts and Responsibility
- Participants are responsible for managing their own social media accounts.
- Participants agree to abide by the terms of use and privacy policies of the platforms they use.
- We are not responsible for the actions, policies, or penalties imposed by social media platforms.
- Participants must not misrepresent themselves as official representatives of Sun Sprouts.
6. Ownership of Content
- Participants retain ownership of the content they create and post.
- By participating in the Program, Participants grant Sun Sprouts a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, share, and promote their videos for educational and promotional purposes, including but not limited to our website, social media, newsletters, and other materials.
7. Privacy and Personal Information
- Participants must not disclose personal, sensitive, or private information in their videos, such as their full name, address, phone number, or school name.
- We will collect and store only the minimum necessary personal information to manage the Program, in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
8. Liability Disclaimer
- Sun Sprouts is not responsible for any harm, injury, or damages resulting from participation in the Program.
- Participants agree to take full responsibility for the content they post, including any consequences arising from inaccurate or inappropriate content.
- The information shared in the Program’s videos is not intended to substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
9. Code of Conduct
- Treat others with respect and kindness.
- Refrain from engaging in online bullying, harassment, or any form of misconduct.
- Follow all deadlines and instructions provided by Program coordinators.
10. Termination of Participation
- We reserve the right to terminate a Volunteer’s participation in the Program at any time for:
- Failure to comply with these Terms.
- Posting content that violates our Content Guidelines or Code of Conduct.
- Any behavior deemed inappropriate or harmful to the Program’s mission.
11. Program Updates and Modifications
We may update or modify the Program and these Terms at any time. Volunteers and parents/guardians (if applicable) will be notified of any significant changes. Continued participation in the Program constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Agreement and Acknowledgment
By participating in the Program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must also acknowledge and accept these Terms on the volunteer hour form.
